Collaboration. What does one think when you hear the word, collaboration? Collaboration is defined as “Working together with others to achieve a common goal”. Collaboration is based on the idea that interactions between participants with a common goal, working together as partnerships, sharing resources and teaming up to solve complex or “wicked” problems that are not possible to solve in isolation.
So what happens when you put together like-minded and passionate individuals who share a love for the Fighting Game Community? You get your future tournament hosts, organisers and production with organic cohesion.
The newly enrolled learners of the Magic Pixel Academy were on their first assignment at Nitro Playground working together on production and organising the tournament for Tekken 8 & Street Fighter 6. The cadets come from all walks of life with their own reasons for joining the academy, whether its to strengthen their skill set, share the experience of the scene with many others or to be able to aspire to the global community and go international, unity is the common denominator.
Goliath Gaming, together with The Magic Pixel combined forces to bring the 2026 Nitro Playground more energy and excitement. The Ridge Park Sports Club saw over 200 participants sign up for EA FC, Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6 and Counter Strike 2 each with their own high calibre of competition. Each tournament brought fourth its own energy as each participant fought to come out on top, however, in between the heated rivalries, an organic sense of fellowship, mentorship and family, even in games where there can only be one winner, there’s a spirit of ‘win for one is a win for all’ in both sides of the spectrum.
To work together to elevate the esports community to greater heights and foster a stronger community that grows together when they work together. To bring a professional, grassroots and fun flare to the Nitro Playground and other future events. That's what its all about, after all.
